A huge hello to you from myself and the team! I hope you are excited for 2025 and everything it brings. For my part, I am thrilled to be able to announce what I have planned for this upcoming year, so this is a slightly longer newsletter than usual. Over the past 25 years I have shared my passion for lifestyle and home with you my wonderful community, from interiors styling to recipes, product recommendations and much in between. My goal was always to help people make their own home the best place it could possibly be, wherever they lived and whatever their budget. The original Home In The Country series was filmed in my cottage in Wales and was a celebration of what makes a home special - food, interior styling and a connection with nature. That goal has never changed and over time I also came to realise that lifestyle and health are inextricably entwined. If you are healthy, you can enjoy life to the fullest and that starts at home. So, in my fifties I rethought what I ate, how I exercised and how I approached life. Quite apart from the fact it did help me lose quite a bit of weight, I gained something more - a revitalised outlook on my second act, and a sense of excitement and optimism about the future. For me, lifestyle is a philosophy of life, not just where you live but how you live and the quality of that life. So, my message to you going forward is all about living well - how properly to nourish your body, what exercise and movement can do for you, how to connect better with nature and its incredible powers, and yes, still very much about making your home visually and emotionally nurturing. Through my new website alisoncork.com and social media channels I’m going to share everything I’ve learnt and continue to learn - from simple healthy meals to delicious sugar free baking, weight training to walking in nature, products I love and why, creating a beautiful home, stimulating your mind through travel and making the most of yourself through fashion and beauty.
